Education needs hope.
We want to help.
Our purpose is Your Purpose.
Education seems to have lost its way.
This is why we’ve started the Residency at Regents teacher’s formation program. We want to help reorient teachers back to their ultimate purpose.
In short, we want to help make education true, good, and beautiful by training educators to know, experience, and reflect the One who is True, Good, and Beautiful in life and in the classroom.
Regents School of Austin has been helping to reorient education for over 30 years. During this time, we’ve learned a lot and accumulated many hard-earned answers.
Thirty years later, we want to offer these answers to the next generation of classical Christian educators. That’s because these answers never belonged to us; they’ve always been a gift from the Lord. So, to be true to our school’s name, we want to steward these God-given answers to train and cultivate future educational leaders interested in the ever-expanding classical Christian school movement.
Simply put, we want to use our past 30 years of experience to help the next 30 years of educators flourish personally and professionally. That is why we are here.

Our Project
What is The Residency at Regents? Why should I join?
We are glad you asked! The Residency at Regents is an incarnational, eight-month teacher formation project at Regents School of Austin to help educational leaders - like yourself - explore and experience the hope of classical Christian education.
In simplest terms, the Residency seeks to help you do two things: 1) Explore and 2) Experience classical Christian education in real-time, in real classrooms, with real students, alongside real mentors.

What Our Residents Say
FAQs
What are the dates for the Residency this year? |
---|
The Residency begins in early September and continues through mid-May. |
I think I want to spend eight months at Regents! How do I apply? |
We are now accepting applications for resident positions for the upcoming school year. Applications are due by March 15th each year. Interviews will be conducted in late March, with responses to candidates by the end of April. |
I love this initiative! How can I financially support the Residency at Regents? |
The Residency Program is fully funded by non-tuition dollars. If you’re interested in giving, please click here. |
Do I have to be a christian to be a part of the residency? |
Yes, as we are serving the classical Christian movement and classical Christian schools, we require all residents to sign the same statement of faith that the substitute teachers at Regents sign, which can be found here. Further details about our faith commitments are available through our application page. |
Do I have to commit to all 8 months? |
Yes, the Residency is built over an 8-month period. Starting late or ending early would undermine your growth and formation. If you have time constraints, we kindly ask that you apply when you can spend the entire school year with us at Regents as a full-time resident. |
Do I need to be well-versed in classical education before i join the residency? |
No, this is not a requirement at all and helping you become “well-versed” in classical Christian education is one of the main purposes of the program. You do need to be interested in exploring this model of education as you will be giving 8 months of your life to it. |
Do I need a college degree to apply? |
No, a college degree is not required. In fact, we hope to have residents who are currently in college join us to see if classical, Christian education is a good fit for them. Not only that, you can apply without having ever attended college either. Lastly, you can be graduate of college (with multiple degrees) and still apply. |
Can I get college credit for this residency? |
We would love to help you with this and we do think this is a potential option. However, the decision must ultimately be made by the school you are attending. If you would like to pursue college credit for the Residency, please have your college advisor email us at residency@regentsaustin.org. |
Can I visit rEGENTS BEFORE DECIDING TO APPLY? |
Absolutely! We would encourage you to do this. We would also love to meet you and show you around our school. Feel free to email us at residency@regentsaustin.org to set up a time to visit. |
Are you promising me a job when I am done? |
We would love to make that promise but unfortunately, we can’t always make that happen. However, we can promise that we will do everything we possibly can to help you find that perfect job after the Residency. To do this, we plan to build an employment portal to connect our Residents with other classical, Christian schools. We will also help you practically navigate the job process by offering career development opportunities throughout your time with us. |
I work for a classical christian school; how do i hire your residents for our open teaching positions? |
We are so glad you asked! Send us an email at residency@regentsaustin.org to let us you’re your needs and help you set up times to connect with our residents. We also hope to have a “classical, Christian faculty fair” (we will work on the name soon!) where interested schools can come and meet our residents. |
I work for a classical christian school; Can i send my new teachers to the residency program for training? |
We would love to help train your new teachers! Our current program requires a full 8-month residency here in Austin, which might be difficult for new fully-employed teachers to attend. However, we would love to train them, if you are willing to send them. In the future, we do hope to open up shorter, intensive options for this specific type of training for new and incoming faculty members looking for Resident-like training. |
I work for a classical christian school; can your mentor teachers at regents come train my faculty? |
Yes, we can help with that. Send us an email with your needs and/or academic discipline focus and we will work to get you connected with the right teacher(s) at the right time. |
I have more questions. How can I find answers? |
Please email us at residency@regentsaustin.org. |
