Inscribed on the School of Rhetoric is VIR BONVS DICENDI PERITVS (Quintilian). When we graduate from Regents, our education culminating in the Senior Thesis, we have risen to that challenge. Regents graduates are all over the world, walking faithfully in personal and professional roles.

Charlotte Talley (2012)
Dr. David Leach (2012) graduated from Trinity University in 2016, and from Rice University in 2020 with a Ph.D in Chemistry and Bioengineering. He now works at Chevron in their Houston laboratory as a Lead Research Scientist, leading R&D projects in oilfield chemistry, subsurface microbiology, and water treatment. He also leads Chevron’s Global Upstream Labs technical network, organizing trainings and conferences for 13 laboratories across 9 countries. David loves using his Regents training in speech and rhetoric to communicate science across the world. He and his wife Katherine Corley Leach (2011), a pediatrician, have two young sons.
Ross McBee (2010) is transforming the fashion industry by developing sustainable "leather" from shrimp shells at TômTex. With a background in biology, influenced by his time under former Rhetoric Dean of Math and Science Dr. Christina Swan at Regents, Ross blends scientific rigor with creative problem-solving to tackle environmental challenges. His work at TômTex, which partners with elite brands like Gucci, aims to reduce the fashion industry’s environmental impact and inspire a shift towards sustainability. Ross credits his classical Christian education with broadening his definition of creativity, essential in his scientific and technological pursuits.
If you stop by for a visit, you’ll find a number of your former classmates in the classrooms and hallways of Regents. Cece Phillips Fisher (2016) teaches 2nd grade; Mattie Adams Rice (2014) teaches 1st grade; Hannah Edling Gamble (2014) teaches 4th grade; John Tucker (2006) teaches SOR Literature; and Mary Kathryn Netherton (2007) teaches 1st grade.

Brandon Dickey (2014) attended Texas A&M University and graduated in 2018 with a B.S. in Biology. He joined the U.S. Army as a 2nd Lieutenant through the Health Professions Scholarship Program before starting medical school in 2018. He graduated from Texas A&M Medical School in 2022. Promoted to Captain in the U.S. Army, he is now completing a General Surgery Residency at UT Houston. He is currently in his 3rd year of a 5-year residency program. He hopes to pursue a career in Trauma Surgery, Burn Surgery, and Critical Care. He and his lovely wife Devon, an anesthesia resident at UT Houston, live in the medical center with their dog Stetson.
Avery Linder Price (2013) discovered her passion for watercolor painting after leaving the University of Texas to pursue art while prioritizing her young family. Living in a small apartment, she found watercolor both captivating and practical, leading to her business, Coloring Austin, where she captures vibrant, nostalgic scenes of her hometown. Avery’s creative process involves visiting Austin’s landmarks, then sketching and layering watercolors in her studio. She credits her art teacher, Mrs. Whatley, and other mentors at Regents for helping turn her passion into a career, and believes her classical Christian education equipped her with the confidence and skills to express her artistic vision.
Charlotte Talley (2012) currently serves as the Women’s Ministry Director for the Student Mobilization team at SMU. StuMo is a college ministry focusing on evangelism and discipleship. During her time with StuMo, Charlotte has travelled to unreached countries, including Japan and Southeast Asia. Most of her days are spent on SMU’s campus, whether in cafeterias or sorority houses, meeting with girls, learning their faith backgrounds and stories, sharing the gospel, and helping them process it. Additionally, she leads investigative Bible studies and discipleship groups that equip students with the tools to talk about their faith with their friends and classmates.

Did you know we currently have 16 alumni working at Regents, as teachers, IT staff, and coaches? You’ll find them teaching in Grammar, Logic, and Rhetoric, working in the Admin and Technology teams, and coaching our many student athletes.
The Regents Alumni Network serves to connect alumni to each other and alumni to the extended Regents community; to support the mission of Regents; and to participate in ongoing Regents activities.
