The Value of reverentia |
Reverentia
The hands folded and raised in prayer portray reverence, awe, and adoration. As we behold the majesty of God, our response is worship, love, and devotion.
“Psalm 78 reminds us that our calling as parents and educators is to “tell to the coming generation the glorious deeds of the Lord, and his might, and the wonders that he has done.” A classical Christian education allows us to study all of creation in light of the Creator and His wonders.”

Responding in complete faith to the truth that God has revealed leads to the symbol of hands folded and raised upward in prayer, portraying the Latin word reverentia, meaning reverence, awe, and adoration. As we are confronted by the majesty of God and begin to grow in knowledge and understanding of him, our response is an overwhelming sense of worship, love, and devotion. Our privileged duty is indicated in Matthew 22:37: “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.”
