The Value of fiducia |
Fiducia
The anchor in the midst of turbulent waters represents faith and trust. This faith is the act of trust by which our hearts and minds embrace, believe, and personally rest upon Christ for salvation.
“I love the simplicity and profundity of the words in the Westminster Confession of Faith, that man’s chief end is to glorify God and enjoy him forever. It has become my desire to pass this "Good News" along to all the students who enter my classroom.”

An anchor in the midst of turbulent waters represents fiducia, meaning “faith” or “trust”. This word describes something deeper than intellectual assent or acceptance of truth. Faith is the act of trust by which our hearts and minds embrace, believe, and personally rest upon Christ for salvation. It anchors us to the absolute trustworthiness of God to nurture and protect our souls in spite of our changing circumstances, our shifting emotions, and Satan’s attempts to deceive and defeat us. The anchor is submerged below the turbulent waters and into the calm, representing the unchanging nature of God.
